MIND

Spring clean and declutter your mind. Everybody has negative thoughts. In fact some scientist suggest that the average human being has approximately 60,000 thoughts a day and 80% of those thoughts are negative and lead to feelings of anxiety, depression and low self-esteem. We all identify with the inner critic. Now it is time to develop a team of inner cheerleaders who will give encouragement. Use the season of renewal to focus on creating positive thought patterns and gratitude practices.

SPIRIT

Instead of writing a gratitude list at the end of your day explore writing three things you are grateful for as soon as you open your eyes. Start your day listening to a song about gratitude. Try this song Thank You For This Day by Karen Drucker.

BODY

Mycobacterium vaccae

Plant a garden in Spring for physical well-being. Spending time in nature can help you unwind and connect to the world around you. A New York Times article, published in 2017, reported a bacterium found in garden soil, that triggers the release of serotonin in the brain. The act of tending to plants and watching them grow can also offer a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction.

Quote of the Month

"The Earth laughs in flowers." Ralph Waldo Emerson.
